State House Anti-Corruption Unit working together with Police have arrested 5 Bunyangabu district officials over corruption related allegations. The officials are; The Principal Human Resource Officer, Ikiriza Lucy who was arrested for fraudulently enrolling 3 teachers on the district payroll without verifying their appointments with the Education Service Commission. So far, Government has lost over UGX50M as a result of these irregular appointments.
In addition, The Chief Financial Officer, Basaliza Joseph, District Production Officer Yusta Asiimwe and the Agricultural Officer, Tumwesigye Gerald were also arrested for the mismanagement of over UGX90M meant for the Agricultural Cluster Development Project to improve the coffee and maize value chain.
