
In a concerted effort to enhance collaboration among agencies in the ongoing fight against corruption, the Minister of Ethics, Hon. Rose Lilly Akello, hosted a high-level Inter-Agency Forum last evening. This event brought together key stakeholders from various organizations dedicated to combating corruption in Uganda. Attendees included representatives from the Inspectorate of Government, the Criminal Investigations Directorate of the Uganda Police Force, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Directorate for Ethics and Integrity, and the Leadership Code Tribunal (LCT).

The forum also included participants from the Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Authority (PPDA), the Health Monitoring Unit of the State House, the Financial Intelligence Authority of Uganda, the Internal Security Organisation (ISO), the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, the National Secretariat of Patriotism, the Uganda Revenue Authority, the Ministry of Local Government, the Anti-Corruption Division of the High Court, as well as the Governance and Security Sector, the Judicial and Education Service Commissions, and the Ministry of Justice.

During the discussions, Hon. Akello emphasized the crucial importance of government support for various anti-corruption agencies and the need to more actively mobilize the public in this critical battle. She stated that with enhanced cooperation, increased enforcement measures, and a dedicated commitment to transparency and accountability, the pervasive issue of corruption can be effectively addressed. This, in turn, will lead to improved delivery of essential social services throughout the country, fostering a more equitable and just society for all Ugandans.
