On May 12, 2025, Brig Gen Henry Isoke, the Head of the State House Anti-Corruption Unit, delivered a lecture to senior police officers from the Criminal Investigations, Professional Service, and Canine Units at the Uganda Police Training Facility in Kikandwa. His presentation focused on the role of these officers in the fight against corruption.

Brig Gen Isoke emphasized that police investigators are the foundation of public safety and justice, noting that any form of corruption within their ranks undermines the essence of law enforcement. He encouraged the officers to remain committed to their work, embody integrity, and prioritize service above self, all in an effort to improve the image of the police force.

He also echoed the President’s consistent call for integrity among public servants, including police officers, highlighting the core principles of the National Resistance Movement (NRM): Patriotism, Pan-Africanism, socio-economic transformation, and democracy.

Additionally, Brig Gen Isoke praised the Chief of Defence Forces, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for his strong stance against corruption in the military, which has made the Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) a reliable force in the region.

The Head of the Anti-Corruption Unit expressed his appreciation to the Inspector General of Police and the Director of Criminal Investigations for organizing programs that provide ideological grounding for the officers.

In conclusion, Gen Isoke urged the detectives to be role models in the fight against corruption, emphasizing that Criminal Investigators are the pillars upon which the country rests. He stated, “If we are clean, corruption can easily be defeated.” He called for continued collaboration between the State House Anti-Corruption Unit and the police, advocating for synergized teamwork among all anti-corruption agencies for the greater good of the nation.

Gen Isoke was accompanied by D/SSP Fred Lumala, the Head of Investigations at the Unit, and was received at the training facility by the Commandant, ACP Doka Ramadan.
