His. Excellency the President donated to the women of Amolatar Town Council 5 mills and facilities to house them in 2010. They were installed in 2012, but unfortunately diverted and registered to a private owned company by the former state minister for microfinance, Caroline Akao.

When the President was notified about the matter, he directed the Unit to follow it up.

The Head Unit Col Nakalema directed Akao to de-register the mills and asked her to write a Memo to the Uganda Registration Service Bureau (URSB) indicating that she had withdrawn her interest.

Col. Nakalema greets excited women of Amolator after they received their maize mills back from former minister Caroline Akao.

These mills were handed over to the appropriate beneficiaries at a function held in Amolator Town Council on November 10th,2020.

The women of Amolator receive documentation of ownership of the 5 maize milling machines, buildings and the land they are sitting on.
