Over 600 residents of Kamaliba Landing Site/Village on the shores of Lake Victoria and within Lwera wetland were evicted on 16th March 2018 by Pastor Samuel Kakande who claimed the land. Investigations revealed that the land in question was a wetland and the landing site had been cleared for use by NEMA. Further more, that the title held by Pastor Kakande was irregularly issued. This matter was reported to the President who visited the site and ordered Pastor Kakande to resettle the residents, and he complied.
