SEVERAL ARRESTED OVER NTINDA LAND WRANGLES

March 14, 2024. The State House Anti-Corruption Unit working with Police have so far arrested and arraigned over 20 suspects including 11 security guards of Magnum Security on charges of Aggravated Robbery, Conspiracy to Commit a Felony and malicious damage to property. The arrests come as a result of a long standing wrangle over the ownership of land located on Plot 106, Old Kira Road, Ntinda. The suspects were arrested following several attacks on the family of the Late Eng. Johnson Eliba including the demolition of their family home.

The family home had earlier been illegally demolished without any Court Order after a similar attack by people acting on the instructions of a one Yusuf Ssemakula on 26th Dec 2022. This incident was investigated by the Unit and the status quo was to be maintained pending the conclusion of court cases as to the ownership of the property. Despite this, the suspects continued to terrorize the family indicating to police that they had been sent by Yusuf Ssemakula. Semakula has been sighted in several cases of illegal evictions reported to the Unit.
