The Government of Uganda has intervened to resolve wrangles between the Anglican and Catholic Church in northern Uganda. These Churches are rivaling over ownership of the 54 schools both primary and secondary in Acholi-Lango Sub Region.

His Excellency the President directed Col. Edith Nakalema the Head of State House anti- corruption unit to mediate and have the conflict resolved.

The Unit held a reconciliation meeting with members of the clergy from both the Catholic & Anglican faith at the Gulu arch diocese on October 5th, 2022.

Col. Nakalema warned the civil servants against giving evasive reports about the church conflicts. She directed the detectives attached to the Unit to start and expedite the investigations.

She also urged the District Education officers, Chief Administration officers, and other government officials to spearhead the resolving of the conflicts. She stressed that any civil servant found to have a hand in the conflicts would be arrested.
