Wednesday, May 11,2022: Six Kasese district local government officials have been arrested. They include the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) alleged to have unlawful collected and mismanaged revenues remitted by sub counties in the guise of facilitating LCIVs office which ceased to exist, the Senior Assistant Engineering officer for mismanaging the district assets, the Former Town Clerk of Mubuku Town Council and the Former Treasurer of Mubuku Town council for allegedly mismanaging start up funds totaling Ugx.50m meant for Mubuku town council.
Others arrested are the Town Clerk of Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council and Senior Town Treasurer for mismanaging over Ugx.59m of the Discretionary Development Equalization Grant (DDEG) Funds.
