SH-ACU responded to complaints from the residents of Kinumi, Bishenyi and Kitwetwe villages in Miiriya sub-county in Masindi District. The dispute was over land measuring 23 square miles in Buruli Block 9 Plots 33, 34, 35, 36 and 37 owned by Lochab Agriculture Limited. It was alleged that persons purporting to be agents of the company were using the area police officers to harass, arrest and detain residents on trumped up charges. The Unit promptly organised a meeting with the District Security Committee and aggrieved residents. The errant police officers were referred to the IGP for further action.
