Tuesday, May 10, 2022: State house Anti-Corruption Unit carried out an operation in Tororo where three directors of Tororo Lion’s Club Host Limited, District Senior Lands Management officer (Acting Physical Planner) and former Chairperson Area land Committee were arrested for allegedly conspiring to unlawfully transfer public land comprised in plot 8-20 along Busia road.
The subject land is being used as children’s park. During the same operation, the Tororo Municipality Town Clerk and the Municipal Engineer were also arrested over embezzlement of over Shs.180m funds meant to construct Kagera bridge.
